Thermography
Thermal cameras or thermal imagers are sophisticated devices comprised of a sensitive heat sensor with the capacity to pick up minute differences in temperature. As they gather the infrared radiation from objects in a particular environment, they can start to map out an image based on the differences and inflexions of the temperature measurements.
Boom & Flair Tip Inspections
As part of a Safety Management System, scheduled flare tip, flare tower / boom and associated pipework inspections are required usually every 1-2 years, or as required by the insurance provider. However, if the inspection due to be undertaken is of a manual nature, and the asset’s boom and flare tip are in good order, then this inevitably leads to further shut-downs and premature part upgrade costs where they may not be needed.
Power line and solar panel inspections
A drone’s capacity to cover vast distances and provide high-resolution aerial images has allowed many companies to optimize their efficiency when completing dangerous or time-consuming tasks. Drones have provided transmission line and solar farm managers with accurate data via new technological developments, such as thermal sensors, ensuring that routine operations are conducted more efficiently. A thermal sensor can be used for measuring the heat emitted from powerlines in order to analyze the abnormal voltage and contact resistance. It helps the operation and maintenance personnel to check the defects in real time.
