Mining Services

We offer a wide variety of services to the mining and exploration sectors including

  • Digital asset modelling, 3D modelling

  • Inspections (VT,UT),

  • Digital terrain (DTM) and Digital Surface Models (DSM),

  • Stockpile and TSF profiling,

  • Volumetric estimation,

  • Drill collar pick-ups and

  • Seeding overburden dumps and vegetation regeneration

Our vehicles have been built and equipped for projects completely off grid in extremely remote areas. We are centrally based in Geraldton WA and able to mobilise anywhere in the country.

Orthomoseic Maps

Our drone images are corrected for image distortion and stitched together during post-processing to create a highly-accurate orthomosaic map. Each pixel contains 2D geo-information (X, Y) and can directly procure accurate measurements, such as horizontal distances and surfaces.

Digital Terrain Models & Contours

After filtering objects such as buildings, the drone images can be used to create DTMs with each pixel containing 2.5D information (X, Y, and Z value of the highest altitude).

Depending on the project requirements, either the DTM or DSM model, with custom contour intervals, can be used to create a contour lines map, giving you a better understanding of the surface of your site.

Tailings Storage Facilities Profiling

drone tailings volume

After a mine is depleted and no longer usable, the land enters a reclamation phase.

Reclamation involves rehabilitating the land to a more natural state. At times, the land is used for another industrial or municipal use during reclamation. Detailed reclamation plans are typically required by mining operations in order for them to obtain a permit to start the mining process.

Overburden Regeneration

Operators are required to prepare reports for managing a TSF. The report requires information on tailings management practices, and any reclaim operations,  geometry and maximum height of the TSF and site specific features. Drones are upto 8 x faster than conventional methods of obtaining this required information.

Volumetric Measurments

drone stockpile measurments

For stockpile volume measuring, drone images are stitched together and used in a process called photogrammetry to create a 3D interactive map of your site. Once the map is complete, specialised software can be used to make measurements of stockpile volumes, distances from one point to another, heights or anything else of value captured on the map.

Drill Collar Pick-ups

Where exploration drilling programmes are planned we can set-out new drill hole locations, pickup co-ordinates of existing drill collar locations with cm accuracy in even the most remote areas.
